Dark and Smokey rOSEMARY rUM cocktail

​This cocktail will make take any cocktail party to the next level. This is a perfect recipe for the holidays or wintertime. Anything smoked gives that extra lil sum sum around the colder months. I suggest prepping the simple syrup a few hours before guests arrive. 

Smoky Drink


  • 1½ ounces of Spiced Rum 

  • ¾ ounce brandy 

  • ¾ ounce orange bitters 

  • 1 bar spoon of smoked rosemary simple syrup*

  • Flamed Rosemary Sprig


  • In a mixing glass, add all ingredients with ice and stir until chilled.

  • Strain into a rocks glass over fresh ice.

  • Garnish with a flamed rosemary sprig.

  • Cover with a glass dome and let sit for 1-2 minutes, or until the cocktail is well smoked, before drinking.

*Smoked-rosemary simple syrup:


In a saucepan over medium heat, combine 1⁄2 cup sugar, 1⁄2 cup water, and stir until just under a boil. Remove from heat. With a kitchen torch or lighter, flame one rosemary sprig until it begins to smoke on all sides. Drop smoking sprig into a saucepan and let steep, covered, for 20 minutes. Strain out solids and store them in the refrigerator for up to one week.
