2 Ways Straining Tofu

Long Straining Option:

  1. Put the Tofu between a kitchen towel or paper towels and place the tofu between 2 plates,

  2. Afterward, add a heavy object (5 pounds) on the plates and let sit for 30-45 minutes.

  3. This will allow all the water to drain, which will then allow the Tofu to absorb all of the curry spices.

Quick Straining Option:

  1. Strain the Tofu with a cheesecloth but cutting the tofu into cubes

  2. Next, wrap the tofu the cheesecloth and strain the water out with enough pressure to strain but not crumble the tofu.

Chef Tips

  1. Straining tofu: Quick Strain using cheesecloth. Extended Drain: cut into slices then place between two pieces of paper and plates, add a 5-pound weight and let sit for 4 hours
