Chocolate Nut Bark

 

There has always been something special about Chocolate Bark. Maybe it's a sure sign that the season is changing and the holidays are coming. This means, family, friends, and foods...Lots of it!

 

Time: 5 Minutes

Freeze Time: 10 minutes

Servings:​​ 12-16 oz bark

 

 

 

Ingredients for Chocolate Bark Base

 

  • 1/3 Cup of melted coconut oil

  • ½ Cup of 80-100% cocoa or raw cacao powder 

  • 1/4 C Cashew, Almonds or any other prefer nut

  • 2 Tbsp. of Agave Nectar or Maple Syrup 

  • 1 tsp of vanilla extract (OPTIONAL FOR FLAVOR)

  • Pinch of sea salt now and some for later

       

Tools

 

  • Medium Mixing Bowl

  • Measuring Cups/Spoons 

  • Parchment/Wax Paper

  • Cookie Sheet or Medium Baking Sheet

 

Instruction for Chocolate Bark Base

 

  1. In the mixing bowl combine the coconut oil and cocoa powder and mix completely

  2. add in the maple syrup/agave nectar and mix completely

  3. On the wax paper lined cookie sheet, add a pinch of salt then the nuts

  4. Pour the entire bowl of chocolate onto the Parchment lined baking pan and spread 1/8-1/4" thick

  5. Top with a pinch of salt

  6. Place in the freezer for 10-15 mins until hardened 

 

 

Storage

 

Wrap in parchment paper and store in a sealed container in the freezer. Keeps for several weeks

 

 

 

Chef Notes

 

  1.  Any nuts of your choice can be used, you can even be replaced with Chia seeds and raw oatmeal for added nutrients

  2. Once the coconut oil is melted, let sit to cool, not harden, just cool. This will prevent the chocolate from clumping when mixing
