Vegan Waffle Cone Recipe

Cook Time: 5-7 minutes
Prep Time: 10 minutes
Total Time: 15-17 minutes

Servings: Approximately 8 waffle cones

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour

  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar

  • 1/4 cup coconut oil, melted

  • 1/3 cup almond milk (or any plant-based milk)

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Tools:

  • Waffle cone maker

  • Mixing bowl

  • Whisk

  • Measuring cups and spoons

Instructions:

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, and salt.

  2. Add the melted coconut oil, almond milk, and vanilla extract to the dry ingredients. Mix until you achieve a smooth batter with no lumps.

  3. Preheat your waffle cone maker according to the manufacturer's instructions.

  4. Spoon about 2 tablespoons of batter onto the center of the preheated waffle cone maker.

  5. Close the lid and cook for 1-2 minutes or until the cone is golden brown and crisp.

  6. Carefully remove the waffle cone and quickly shape it into a cone using a cone-shaped mold or by hand. Be cautious as it will be hot.

  7. Repeat the process with the remaining batter.

  8. Allow the waffle cones to cool and firm up before serving.

Storage: Store the waffle cones in an airtight container at room temperature. They should stay crisp for up to a week.

Chef Notes:

  • Customize your waffle cones by adding a sprinkle of cinnamon or cocoa powder to the batter for extra flavor.

  • If the batter seems too thick, you can adjust the consistency by adding a bit more almond milk, one tablespoon at a time.

  • Experiment with different plant-based milk options to find the flavor you prefer for your waffle cones.

  • Get creative with toppings! Dip the edges of your cooled waffle cones in dairy-free chocolate and sprinkle with chopped nuts or shredded coconut for an extra indulgence.
