Pizza Crust Instructions

Rising the yeast

  1. Take 1 Tbsp. of active yeast

  2. Add the sugar

  3. Add 2 Cup of room temperature water (not too hot to avoid killing yeast)

  4. Let the yeast bloom for 2-5 minutes (it will foam to the top)

Note: If yeast doesn't bloom then discard it and try it again

  1. After the yeast has bloomed, the exciting part begins! Add yeast and water to the flour mixture, mixing thoroughly to ensure incorporation. Cover with a cloth and let it sit for 10 minutes; most flour options double in size during this time. Whole wheat tends to be denser.

  2. Dust the countertop with flour to prepare for dividing. Move the dough onto the floured surface, then cut it into 3-4 equal parts, depending on your desired pizza size (e.g., 4 parts for a 12" pizza).

Note: Wheat flour needs consistent kneading for about 10 minutes or until the dough is firm and bounces back when pressed with a finger.

  3. Finally, Constructing The Pizza

   a. Divide the dough into 3 or 4 portions.

   b. Grease the pan, take one portion, and shape the crust to your preference (thin, thick crust, Chicago style, etc.). Lightly sprinkle flour on the pan to prevent sticking.

   c. Once shaped, spoon pizza sauce into the center, spreading it outward from the center, covering the entire dough except for the crust. Be careful not to tear the dough; if a tear occurs, patch it up with a piece from the side.

   d. Add the toppings, saving the cheese for last. Optionally, drizzle with more olive oil for extra crispiness.

   e. Preheat the oven to 400°F and bake until the crust turns golden brown.

   f. Squeeze the roasted garlic cloves onto the top of the pizza after removing it from the oven.
